Mrs. Smith"s CCR class experienced a presentation entitled “Ballin on a Budget.” Tiffany Allen, Hillcrest c/o 1990 provided the kids with information regarding budgeting, investing, stocks & bonds, and several hands-on activities (role-playing and a group collaborative task), which helped them understand personal finance, money management, and the trade-offs involved in making spending decisions. At the end of the presentation, students responded and reflected on the challenges they faced managing money, how priorities affect spending, and the importance of saving and planning for their futures.

Opening Night Success! 🎭 Last night marked the spectacular opening of our fall play, “Little Shop of Horrors” — and what a night it was! Our talented students delivered a high-energy performance that kept the audience entertained from START to FINISH! A huge shoutout to our incredible cast and crew for their hard work, passion, and creativity. If you missed opening night, don’t worry — there are still more chances to see this amazing show! NHS and Student Council students attended the SSC Leadership conferences hosted by Oak Lawn High School. Students participated in a variety of activities to build their skills as leaders in both the school and community. #hillcresthawkpride

Key Club had an amazing time volunteering at the Bridge Teen Center Thrift Store! Our group sorted and organized 150 bags of donations — that’s a lot of giving back! The kids worked hard, had fun, and learned the joy of helping others. We’re so proud of their teamwork and positive energy! #hillcresthawkpride

Students of the Week! Ja’Vion Horton is an incredible student who always puts forth his best effort. His hard work and determination shine through in everything he does. Ja’Vion also stands out for being an excellent self-advocate—he takes ownership of his learning and sets a great example for his peers! Kamya Smith is a thoughtful and respectful classmate who brings positivity to our classroom every single day. Her kind spirit and positive attitude make her a joy to have in class! Big Congratulations to Angel Taylor! 🏈 Last night at Soldier Field, Angel was honored as one of only 56 girls in the entire state of Illinois to be named to the Chicago Bears All-State Flag Football Team! 🐻💙 This incredible achievement is a testament to Angel’s hard work, dedication, and leadership throughout the season — helping the Hawks reach the Sectional Finals for the second straight year! 🔥 Way to represent, Angel! 🎶 Hawk Pride in Action! 🎶 Hillcrest Senior Liyah Jackson shined this weekend, performing with the District 1 Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) at Elmhurst University! Senior Class took their annual trip to a Haunted House. There were over 40 Seniors who attended this year and so much fun was had! Memories were made as students navigated the Haunted Forest and faced their fears in the Haunted House! Seniors can’t wait for their next trip and look forward to making more memories during their last year at Hillcrest. #hillcresthawkpride
