Opening Night Success! 🎭 Last night marked the spectacular opening of our fall play, “Little Shop of Horrors” — and what a night it was! Our talented students delivered a high-energy performance that kept the audience entertained from START to FINISH! NHS and Student Council students attended the SSC Leadership conferences hosted by Oak Lawn High School. Students participated in a variety of activities to build their skills as leaders in both the school and community. #hillcresthawkpride

Key Club had an amazing time volunteering at the Bridge Teen Center Thrift Store! Our group sorted and organized 150 bags of donations — that’s a lot of giving back! The kids worked hard, had fun, and learned the joy of helping others. We’re so proud of their teamwork and positive energy! #hillcresthawkpride

Students of the Week! Ja’Vion Horton is an incredible student who always puts forth his best effort. His hard work and determination shine through in everything he does. Ja’Vion also stands out for being an excellent self-advocate—he takes ownership of his learning and sets a great example for his peers! Kamya Smith is a thoughtful and respectful classmate who brings positivity to our classroom every single day. Her kind spirit and positive attitude make her a joy to have in class! Big Congratulations to Angel Taylor! 🏈 Last night at Soldier Field, Angel was honored as one of only 56 girls in the entire state of Illinois to be named to the Chicago Bears All-State Flag Football Team! 🐻💙 This incredible achievement is a testament to Angel’s hard work, dedication, and leadership throughout the season — helping the Hawks reach the Sectional Finals for the second straight year! 🔥 Way to represent, Angel! 🎶 Hawk Pride in Action! 🎶 Hillcrest Senior Liyah Jackson shined this weekend, performing with the District 1 Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) at Elmhurst University! Out of 500+ talented students from the Chicagoland area who auditioned, only 100 were selected for the Senior Band — and Liyah was one of them! 💫 What an incredible accomplishment — we are so proud of our amazing Hawk! 💙💛 #hillcresthawkpride

Senior Class took their annual trip to a Haunted House. There were over 40 Seniors who attended this year and so much fun was had! Memories were made as students navigated the Haunted Forest and faced their fears in the Haunted House! Seniors can’t wait for their next trip and look forward to making more memories during their last year at Hillcrest. #hillcresthawkpride

It was a great day for planting! Our amazing students got their hands dirty (literally) and planted 10 new trees and about 500 bulbs . That’s a whole lot of future blooms! This was our first year flying solo without the guidance of the Morton Arboretum, but you’d never know it — these students handled it like seasoned gardeners. They don’t just dig into their studies, they dig into the soil too! With today’s additions, our total tree count has grown to 85 trees. That’s a forest in the making! #hillcresthawkpride

🌟 Student Spotlight! 🌟 👏 Raysean Horton demonstrates outstanding attendance, responsibility, and consistently sets a positive example for his peers. 💫 Lailah Bijou shines with her kindness, motivation, and enthusiasm for learning. Interact Club had a time volunteering at the Hot Chocolate Expo! The Hillcrest team was given the task of managing the entire Chocolate Experience booth. Students managed inventory, created desserts, interacted with customers, built specialty desserts for customers with food allergies, and managed the flow of snacks to ensure there was ample product available at all times. Tawon King volunteered to serve in the race participant area where he fulfilled registration orders. Tawon's experience included accurately filling individual orders, providing customers with race day information, and improving the distribution process to speed the flow of customers. Our students worked hard and had a great time volunteering. The Hot Chocolate Race is sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities and proceeds directly benefit the families of critically ill children. #hillcresthawkpride

Mr. Ramel's Sports and Entertainment Marketing class recently went on a field trip to the Chicago Wolves. The first 45 minutes was dedicated to meeting the Director of Operations, Director of Marketing, and an employee who owned his own company (Live Entertainment). They spoke about all the different Marketing aspects (In Game entertainment, Concessions, Free prizes, Advertising (digital, medial, billboard), and how to get started in the field of Marketing, etc.) There were over 400 students who attended this event and had the opportunity to ask questions during this symposium! #hillcresthawkpride
