Big Congratulations to Angel Taylor! 🏈 Last night at Soldier Field, Angel was honored as one of only 56 girls in the entire state of Illinois to be named to the Chicago Bears All-State Flag Football Team! 🐻💙 This incredible achievement is a testament to Angel’s hard work, dedication, and leadership throughout the season — helping the Hawks reach the Sectional Finals for the second straight year! 🔥 Way to represent, Angel! 🎶 Hawk Pride in Action! 🎶 Hillcrest Senior Liyah Jackson shined this weekend, performing with the District 1 Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) at Elmhurst University! Senior Class took their annual trip to a Haunted House. There were over 40 Seniors who attended this year and so much fun was had! Memories were made as students navigated the Haunted Forest and faced their fears in the Haunted House! Seniors can’t wait for their next trip and look forward to making more memories during their last year at Hillcrest. #hillcresthawkpride

It was a great day for planting! Our amazing students got their hands dirty (literally) and planted 10 new trees and about 500 bulbs . That’s a whole lot of future blooms! This was our first year flying solo without the guidance of the Morton Arboretum, but you’d never know it — these students handled it like seasoned gardeners. They don’t just dig into their studies, they dig into the soil too! With today’s additions, our total tree count has grown to 85 trees. That’s a forest in the making! #hillcresthawkpride

Interact Club had a time volunteering at the Hot Chocolate Expo! The Hillcrest team was given the task of managing the entire Chocolate Experience booth. Students managed inventory, created desserts, interacted with customers, built specialty desserts for customers with food allergies, and managed the flow of snacks to ensure there was ample product available at all times. Tawon King volunteered to serve in the race participant area where he fulfilled registration orders. Tawon's experience included accurately filling individual orders, providing customers with race day information, and improving the distribution process to speed the flow of customers. Our students worked hard and had a great time volunteering. The Hot Chocolate Race is sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities and proceeds directly benefit the families of critically ill children. #hillcresthawkpride

Mr. Ramel's Sports and Entertainment Marketing class recently went on a field trip to the Chicago Wolves. The first 45 minutes was dedicated to meeting the Director of Operations, Director of Marketing, and an employee who owned his own company (Live Entertainment). They spoke about all the different Marketing aspects (In Game entertainment, Concessions, Free prizes, Advertising (digital, medial, billboard), and how to get started in the field of Marketing, etc.) There were over 400 students who attended this event and had the opportunity to ask questions during this symposium! #hillcresthawkpride

🌳🚴‍♀️ Adventure day at Big Marsh Park! We teamed up with Chicago Adventure Club for an unforgettable biking experience! The group enjoyed a gorgeous day riding along the scenic 3-mile path and learning how to tackle single-track trails — complete with a few fun challenges along the way. #hillcresthawkpride

🎉 Congratulations to Coaches Kenya Young and Andrea Johnson! 🎉 They’ve officially qualified an athlete for the IHSA State Championship at Hersey High School, October 23–25! 👏 Freshman Jamiya Hill had an incredible performance: • Received a bye in the first round • Defeated athletes from Bremen and Oak Forest • Battled hard against U of Chicago Lab • Finished strong with a win over Morgan Park Academy 🏅 Jamiya placed 3rd overall in the sectional and will represent us at the State Championship starting Thursday!
