Today, our senior culinary students had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Wunar Scholarship event, held in honor of Marilyn Wunar, mother of former athletic director Lisa Wunar. Hillcrest High School teacher Ms. Scaramella nominated Cameron Alexander as the March Social Studies Student of the month. Ms. Scaramella- "I have Cameron in Honors American History and Sociology/Psychology, during his junior year he has demonstrated his strong work ethic, advocacy skills, desire to do well, and every day he enters our classroom with positive energy. 🎉 District #228 FCCLA students laced up their skates for a great cause at this year’s annual Skate-a-thon! 🛼💜 This year’s event was extra special, as our amazing students raised money for a teacher whose husband is battling pancreatic cancer." 💪💜 A huge THANK YOU to the generous owners of the Tinley Park Roller Rink for donating their space and supporting our mission. The sophomre students attended The Bridge Teen Center on Tuesday, April 15 had a day filled with team building, leadership training, and community service. As always, Hillcrest turned up and participated, sharing their experiences, offering their insights, and volunteering to hold leadership positions. Hillcrest students attended the District 228 Operation Snowball retreat. The Snowball retreat is an unplugged teen retreat focused on leadership, connection, and healthy lifestyle choices. No screens, just fresh air, real conversations, and cabin vibes. #hillcresthawkpride

🚨Hillcrest Anatomy students crushed it at the NIU One-Day Anatomy Course on April 10! 🧠💀 From nailing college-level questions to exploring real human cadavers and a $90K virtual dissection table, they impressed Dr. Samonds & her grad team with their knowledge and curiosity. 💪🫀 Students were praised for their sharp questions, custom anatomy shirts, and stellar performance—some even correcting grad students 👀🔥 Huge thanks to Mrs. Diforti for making this unforgettable experience possible! 💙 #hillcresthawkpride

💙 Hillcrest Key Club in Action! 💙 This week, our Key Club had an incredible experience volunteering at the Prairie Hills Family Engagement Center — a place full of heart and help for our community. From a thrift-style boutique to a food pantry, classes for teens and adults, and more, this center does it all! Our students helped elders shop and get to their cars, steam-cleaned and sorted donated clothes, assisted with deliveries, broke down boxes, and made meaningful connections along the way. By the time we left, there were hugs all around — a true testament to the kindness and compassion of our kids. 🫶 Huge thanks to Coach Dachota for chaperoning, and to the Prairie Hills staff for welcoming us so warmly. #hillcresthawkpride
